Can’t get torrent to download, it keeps saying:-
dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libcrypto.0.9.8.dylib
Refrenced from: /usr/bin/ctorrent
Reason: image not found
./gettorrent: line 2: 144 Trace/BPT trap
Please Help
December 9, 2008 at 5:50 pm
It’s been reported that you can fix this issue by installing Open SSL through Cydia
December 9, 2008 at 6:09 pm
Thanks seem to have done the trick!!!!!!
December 10, 2008 at 7:39 am
I can’t seem to download the upgrade. It says downloading but it doesn’t get installed after that. As soon as it is downloaded the button that says Return To Cydia pops up.
December 10, 2008 at 9:01 am
Great app!
One problem though, which is not really a dTunes issue, but when I open Mobileterminal to excute ./gettorrent, I can’t see any text!
I have tried changing the color of the text in the configuration settings but still nothing.
Does anyone have an idea to resolve this?
Cheers
December 10, 2008 at 10:35 am
@ DragonZ – Have you tried uninstalling dTunes and then re-installing again through Cydia? Also check if you can download anything else as it might be an issue with Cydia.
@cableguy – I’ve not seen this issue before. Again, try uninstalling Mobile Terminal and re-install through Cydia
December 10, 2008 at 12:16 pm
This new update is nice! Im not sure if the terminal is downloading right. It stops and reboots during download. And is there a way to convert avi to mp4? Or does dtunes support avi? Thanks
December 10, 2008 at 2:02 pm
WOW. Thank you for an excellent job freeing me from iTunes/Pandora/Simplify slavery! dTunes is becoming what the app should be. Absolutely fabulous job. Nice piece of work. I hope my meager $20 goes a long way to help out. I’ll give more at the next upgrade…. Also- I don’t understand the technical reason, but you couldn’t have made it much easier to handle torrent files. Good job. Editing browser… Nice touch!
Some feature suggestions:
1- play the Seeqpod results/podlists automatically – not one at a time
2- support playlists from the browser
3- support .flac
4- manage what directory files and torrents are downloaded into so you don’t have to move them later
December 11, 2008 at 3:00 am
everything works great up until i type the ./gettorrent command into mobile terminal it says theres no file or directory probably not a dtunes problem but could anybody help?
December 11, 2008 at 8:00 am
rsdev: yeah I guess it’s an issue with Cydia, I can’t download anything. I can’t seem to find an answer to fix it. Anyone had this issue before?
December 11, 2008 at 12:34 pm
Fantastic App, completely replaced the stock Mp3 player my phone came with. A few suggestions / requests I have are:
1) When I’m playing a song and somebody calls, the playing stops, but when my call is over the music doesn’t automatically start again like the stock player does. A minor inconvenience at most, but it’d be nice to see it addressed
2) In the search/browser part there are back/forward/reload buttons, but you can’t tell when they’re pressed or not. Having them flash white after they’ve been clicked would be a huge help.
3) When I’m playing an MP3 and I hit the “Back” button (Arrow pointing left) I am taken to a “Media Player” screen with a music note in the background, but no music controls, or anything like that. It would be nice if the “back” button took me to the dTunes File Browser instead of this blank screen.
4) A plugin that would let me launch dTunes with a double tap of the home button, much like I can open the stock MP3 player now. Being able to use the lock screen media buttons would be a HUGE plus as well.
#2 is probably the only feasible one, I really have no idea how difficult it is to program for this thing, but fantastic job so far. It’s already my main MP3 player app. Not only am I free of iTunes, I’m free of even plugging my phone into a PC!

L-O-V-E iT!!!
Just have a prob with it crashing all the time now for some reason. (may have something to do with iPhone 2.2 firmmware?).
Just re-installed it yesterday. I haven’t had a chance to take it for a test drive since doing so,
One thing, it would be sweet if it (1) could alert you if it’s going to download a file that is the same name of an already existing file in your folder, then (2) give you the option of changing the name of the NEW file before downloading.
Is that making sense to people?
December 12, 2008 at 6:09 pm
great app! I’m having trouble playing my downloaded torrent files. Everything seems to be working fine but when I try to view it nothing plays. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
December 12, 2008 at 9:45 pm

Hey guys looking for dome help. I need some help with dtunes and mobile terminal. What is mobile terminal and how do I install it. I am trying to watch a torrent and it wants me to go to mobile terminal and I can’t find it to save my life. Please help me
December 14, 2008 at 7:17 am
@ DJ – Ensure you have downloaded a file type that works on the iPhone / iTouch. Best video formats are h.264 with a resolution of 480 wide. (ie: videos designed for the iPhone / iTouch / Zune / PSP etc)
Note: The iPhone cannot play videos with a greater resolution that 480 pixels wide.
@ MArcos – Try renaming the torrent file to something basic in dTunes before preparing. (ie: rename to “1.torrent”). To rename tap edit and then double tap the file name.
@ Paulyriver – Terminal should be installed with the latest version of dTunes however if it is missing then just go into Cydia, then featured applications, and scroll until you see Mobile Terminal.
December 14, 2008 at 7:54 pm
When I download it, it says everything downloads but when I go to my springboard mobile terminal shows up but dtunes doesn’t. Respringing and or rebooting doesn’t change anythig and I’ve tried uninstalling/ reinstalling both dtunes and mobile terminal.
Can anyone help me? >_<
I have an iPhone 3g running firmware 2.2
December 14, 2008 at 9:10 pm
To everyone getting “no such file or directory,”
type “cd ~” in terminal.
if you have been using terminal first before dtunes, you must type “cd ~”
December 14, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Great application. I use it with ssh on linux box so i domt know about issues with download.
Im from slovakia so my fillenames use diacritic which after ssh copy change into % symbols. And everytime i try to play files with % in name application crushes into springboard. Please do something with it.
Great thanks for application
December 15, 2008 at 5:28 am
To everyone getting “no such file or directory,”
There may also have been a problem due to the name of the torrent file.
Try renaming the torrent to “1.torrent” in dTunes, then prepare by clicking on it, finally open Terminal and run the command.
December 16, 2008 at 3:30 pm
if i got to the TorrentFile and activated it by dTunes, i go to the Terminal soft
i tip “./gettorrent”
then the Terminal software told me, “permission denied”
whats happen?
Anybody got i idea?
many many thanks!
December 17, 2008 at 4:57 am
Thanks dan but still not working I think I might just be entering things wrong – do literally put cd ~./gettorrent or am I missing something? I have a feeling it’s the latter…
December 17, 2008 at 5:37 am
@ Folklore,
Can you check you have Open SSL installed?
Does it do this on all torrent files?
@ Nick,
I would try renaming the torrent file in dTunes first. Just make it something easy like “1.torrent”
To do this click Edit, then double tap the file, finally rename the file and save. Now tap on it again to prepare – exit dTunes and open Terminal.
Then just type exactly what is on the next line:
./gettorrent
Hope this helps.
Btw – I think they were advising you to first enter:
cd ~
Then you should press enter and finally run:
./gettorrent

December 19, 2008 at 5:26 am

December 19, 2008 at 11:54 am

December 21, 2008 at 5:55 pm
Can we have a simpler version that does automates the process of using the mobile terminal?
Also how do I check BEFORE downloading if the file is compatible with ipod?
Thanks for the wonderful software !!
December 23, 2008 at 10:38 am

December 23, 2008 at 7:20 pm
Hello,
dTunes ist a very cool software. But can you change the List of the Download Directory to the Standard iPhone7Ipod Scrolling Lists?
That make the App user friendly. And i think its looks Cooler

December 23, 2008 at 8:57 pm
hey, I got a small problem here. when I press download torrent on some specific torrent sites, I only get to download “download.php” file. any way around this? I understand that this is a problem of Safari Download plugin, but still, maybe there’s a possible solution
December 23, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Hi, I love Dtunes. it has replaced my music player on my iphone for sure. I was wondering if u could add support for randomly playing songs from different folders. I know right now random plays randomly from 1 folder, but support for multi-folder playing would be amazing. I don’t like having to use my phone while driving to change to a new music folder =)
other than that, 5/5 Everything works flawless
December 25, 2008 at 5:36 pm
Hi there, great app, im just giving it a try, but nice opt to play some videos w/out sync to itunes…
1 question tho, or maybe suggestion.. Would be nice to have a GUI for the torrents download (imagine transmission, :], something like its remote conection would be great, u enter from safari and check ur dloads, NICE!!, i cant tell now how my dload progress is, or is it just me? im not having any errors so i guess it is downloading.

January 1, 2009 at 8:43 pm
How can i check the status of the torrent in terminal?
January 3, 2009 at 7:58 pm
I’m having the same problem as others here trying to download torrents. “no such file or directory,” keeps showing up I have tried doing the CD ~ command and still the same issue my torrents are numbers such as 1.torrent etc.
I have a fresh jailbroken image as well. Are there any ideas as to the fix for this? Also are there any plans to implement this fix in later releases?
January 7, 2009 at 5:04 pm

January 8, 2009 at 1:40 am
Hey I still get the “no such file or directory” problem even after doing everything uve said so far. I think it might be the terminals fault cause when I use it it always stars out with something like iPod:~mobile: over seen others beside that. Help me out
January 8, 2009 at 2:10 am
Actually its.
iPod:~ mobile$
January 8, 2009 at 5:35 am
To ALL people getting the “No such file or directory” message.
After you have downloaded the torrent file does it actually show with the file extension “torrent” in the file browser? (eg: “whatever.torrent”)
If YES, then just tap the file and you will see a popup message saying the torrent has been prepared.
If NO, then follow the following steps:
1) Go into the file browser
2) Click “Edit” in the top right corner
3) Double tap the torrent file
4) Rename the torrent file to something like: 1.torrent
Note: Make sure you give it the file extension of “torrent”
5) Click “Save” and go back
6) Click “Done” in the top right corner
7) Now tap the torrent file and you should see the popup saying the file has been prepared
Note: Only after seeing this popup message should you try to enter the command in Terminal
Hope this helps.
January 8, 2009 at 1:24 pm
sorry dude it still doesn’t work for me
January 8, 2009 at 10:29 pm
Let me know if “iPod:~ mobile$” is what it’s supposed to open with.
January 9, 2009 at 10:06 am
This is a great app and I love it.
I just have one question though. Can’t I not use the phone function such as Safari or Email or Phone while downloading a torrent in Mobile Terminal? Coz right now, if I’m downloading anything don’t want to close MT because lest I stop my download.
I appreciate your comment here, Richard.
January 9, 2009 at 2:10 pm
Thanks for your answer.
January 12, 2009 at 10:53 pm
PLEASE FIX THIS BUG.
AFTER I CLOSE DTUNES and go to the home screen, THE SCREEN GOES LIGHTER then normal, and it is really annoying because i have to go back to the settings and change the brightness all over again. This happens even if i turn OFF the auto brightness adjust
thanks great app
January 14, 2009 at 12:36 am
I found THE PROBLEM!!! for all
1) Go into the file browser
2) Click “Edit” in the top right corner
3) Double tap the torrent file
4) Rename the torrent file to something like: 1.torrent
(Type “torrent” in the FILE TYPE: box NOT in the FILE NAME:!!!)
5) Click “Save” and go back
6) Click “Done” in the top right corner
7) Now tap the torrent file and you should see the popup saying the file has been prepared
Note: Only after seeing this popup message should you try to enter the command in Terminal
January 17, 2009 at 12:44 pm
Thank you, thanks to you we can manage music and video without going through iTunes.
As soon as I have the financial means I would very giving, which is the least thing I can do.
January 18, 2009 at 9:24 pm
So it says I can exit the terminal and the download will continue. When I return to the term it shows the starting prompt. How do I bring up the torrent app and check the status? Everything else works as it should. Thanks guys.
January 18, 2009 at 9:39 pm
*edit*
If I input ./gettorrent it appears that it is starting the download from the begining. Is this really the case or is it checking the file like with other torrent apps and will continue where it left off?
January 19, 2009 at 11:10 am
You should be able to exit Terminal and leave it running.
However, if you do too much with your iPhone then it might become low on memory and close Terminal.
When this happens your download will stop. Just reopen Terminal and type the command again to resume.
Note: You should see some numbers at the bottom like: 12 / 255 / 255.
This means that there are 255 parts to the download. So far only 12 have been done.
You can use this as a type of percentage bar.
When you restart a download it should go straight to 12, as you have already done these parts.
January 19, 2009 at 5:14 pm
thank you for clarifying. It is totally working great.
January 22, 2009 at 7:12 pm
Let me first say that LOVE dTunes, have donated to it and it’s my primary player – But I tried out PwnPlayer and it gives you the ability to build playlists, which is really cool. Also, it gives you pop-up controls on the lockscreen and in other apps by double tapping the ‘home’ key. Are these features you are considering?
BTW – there are plenty of things I DIDN’T like about PwnPlayer – like trying to be compatible with iTunes library. Who cares about iTunes?
January 24, 2009 at 9:41 am
First of all dTunesis an awesome app! But i have the following problem:
When i try to download a torrent (800mb) in mobile terminal its got stuck on
‘create file’. I can wait like 20 min but it doesnt start, i know that they are enough
seeders so thats not the problem. Smaller files (45mb) willdownload correctly.
So how long does it take to actually begin with downloading ( with bigger files)?
January 25, 2009 at 1:10 am
Sorry for posting again, i love this app but it is killing me!! I am on 2.2, and every time i quit Dtunes, my screen goes dark (not completely, it goes about 50% darker than what my level is at), and it doesnt reset itself unless i go to SB settings. Please help!
January 25, 2009 at 4:32 am
wow my bad. when i restored it went to 2.02, not 2.2. It works now, i am really sorry! Great app!
January 25, 2009 at 8:41 pm
ok great app, it’s my dreams come true, but one question I started the download in terminal and exit out now when I go back in terminal how do I check the progress of the torrent?
February 2, 2009 at 3:40 am
Awesome…dTunes is one of the best app out there. Would recommended it to any…Awesome work guys…Keep up the good work
February 11, 2009 at 2:10 pm
Hi dev of dtunes, recentry I tried dtunes it works great .except it needs a lock for cellcular network , for these ppl who havn’t got unlimited data plan . I just dled a file through cellcular network without knowing it, I think it would be better adding that funtion ,and also made more FAQ in help menu so don’t let folk get confuse to waste unneeded data waste it would be better for you to get donate than let phone company to get that money and share with apple :S
Last if you adding more GUI friendly interface for torrent download, Then it would be great!!!
February 14, 2009 at 12:02 pm
Ever since i put dtunes on my bbc iplayer does not work, when i click on a programe to watch it comes up with the download or play in media player when you click either one it just does not work this happened when i installed dtunes please help. ive even removed dtunes and still comes up with download or play in media player please help me.
June 29, 2009 at 11:38 pm
I do believe this to be a “Safari Download Plugin” problem. I’ve got it too.
Using Cydia to ‘manage’ the plugin out also removes dTunes.
Are they so inextricably linked?
February 16, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Fantastic program, I’m a poor student however as soon as I get my next loan I’m donating to this program! It’s well worth the money, hope to see development continue!
If I may add a suggestion, some way of adding these songs to itunes would be fantastic. I currently have two libraries of music, my iTunes ones and my dTunes ones. A way to integrate dTunes into iTunes would be amazing!!
March 23, 2009 at 5:46 am
Hello.
I, using my terminal knowledge, can fix ur problems with the terminal returning “Access denied”.
Type “su” in the terminal (No quotation marks). It will prompt for a password, enter alpine then hit return. Now try ./gettorrent again. success.
Strange how little of a fix is needed. suprised it’s not posted here yet.
You are welcome.
March 23, 2009 at 5:48 am
(Torrent fix, MobileTerminal download first, from Cydia, then download the .torrent file from a trusted site, click it in the library then enter in MobileTerminal)
April 15, 2009 at 4:10 am
The thing that would make this app perfect would be if u could import music and video files into your library so u don’t have to keep switching between music player and dtunes.
April 15, 2009 at 5:32 pm
Thank you, thank you THANK YOU!!!
I love this app – have just JB my ipod Touch 2G and am running this phenomenal app – its the only way I can get music onto my ipod on Linux. Was seriously considering getting rid of my ipod, but you’ve given it a new lease of life!!
THANK YOU!
May 25, 2009 at 3:12 pm
Hey just wanted to say great app. Luv it and use it all the time. Seeqpod seems to be down, are there any other sites that anyone could suggest or what would I search for??
Many thanks again
J
July 3, 2009 at 10:11 am
Excellent app, thx. I particularly like the videoOut option when it comes to downloads from MobileTheatre
dTunes and/or Safari Download Plugin seems to kill BBC’s iPlayer. Have tried to kill the plugin but dTunes goes with it. Any suggestions?
Is there a way to have it access another media folder? I’ve tried aliasing my MxTube folder into this media folder but it’s not recognised as a folder.
Thanks
July 3, 2009 at 11:52 am
Thanks for the reply Richard. BossPrefs installed (had flipped to SBSettings) and installed Safari DL for BossPrefs plugin and it works a charm. THANKS.

Movie NOT Supported
==============================
If you see this message you should check the following:
1) The file has 100% downloaded
2) The file is either .mp4, .m4a, .mpv, .mov (basically any of the iPod video formats).
3) The movie dimensions are 480 pixels wide or lower
Please note that dTunes uses the same playback framework as the iPod application. Therefore your file must conform to the above.
.AVI or .WMV files will NOT play on dTunes.
When downloading movie files try to ensure they are built for either the iPhone, iTouch, PSP or Zune etc. These should all work fine.
