dTunes : Version 2.3 (Coming Soon)
(click here for latest dTunes news)

For some reason I can’t seem to put this app down at the moment.
The following features have been implemented and will be released soon.
- keeps playing music after pressing home button
- support for folders & sub folders
- displays artwork file (you’ll need to rename any image files “cover.png” and just drop them in the appropriate directory (the screen size is 320×320 and images will be scaled to this size).
Seems like version 2.2 is popular with over 20,000 downloads in less than 24 hours.
Another thing I saw today was a how-to video on YouTube from shananay which was cool to see. I won’t post the link as it’s for the initial version.

Awesome, it looks better and better!
A couple more things you could do (maybe these are obvious):
- don’t show the filename when you have ID3 tags (or show it in small print and the artist/title in large print)
- don’t show the filename while playing, show the ID3 tags
- show the whole playlist while playing, not just the next and last few songs, and allow the user to scroll up and down (and click on a song to go to it)
- when you have shuffle on, the next song listed in the playlist is still the one that comes next in the ordered list, it should be the one that gets played next (i.e., when the user presses shuffle, you should generate a permutation of all songs at that time, not randomly choose the next song to play each time one finishes)
thanks for all your work!

Great job! Another suggestion is to add the option to edit the ID3 tags.

hi;) i just found your great app and will donate as soon as i will be at home
I just have one question: would it be possible to add the downloaded tracks to the music library of the ipod app?
Thx in advance

is it possible to let dtunes read the coverfile directly from the mp3 file?
September 12, 2008 at 11:08 pm
another good thing would be:
- double tap the screen flips the cover and you can see the list of your mp3s and scroll trough like on ipod.app

maybe you could add an internet viewer inside the app, so you can browse the internet for music, which you can download directly within dtunes

Great App like the other posts, a few tweeks need to be made.. and also I discovered since I downloaded dTunes from Cydia I cannot play stream videos from BBC iPlayer because dTunes doesn’t support the types of videos… I uninstalled dTune and BBC iplayer works again on my iphone. is there a way to fix this without having to uninstall dTunes…?

I’ve had a few problems with the ESPN Podcenter after downloading this app, although it works great! When I get to the screen to stream the podcast from their website, it gives me a skewed screen where the download and stream options are available, just like if I was using the program, but then it doesn’t play or download anything. I tried rebooting, uninstalling/reinstalling, and nothing has changed. Any ideas? I’ll be sure to donate if I can still get my precious PTI daily podcasts!

I love this app.
But, am I missing something? I do not see a way in 2.3 to watch video. 2.2 had 2 urls, one pointing to tinytube.
I must be missing something????
