Possible glitch…
Richard I may have stumbled on a small glitch. As I was trying to watch the “Lets Rock” special event on apples website via my iPhone the Download and Play in Media Player button as well as the warnings and progress bar show up on top of the original Apple webpage… The buttons do nothing and you canstill navigate the page but it’s kinds odd and really anoying. Possible glitch?
Anyway love the app and keep up the good work!

Hi Richard,
Could you share the sources (is this project open source?). I’m very interested in your stuff to start to work on a project i’d love to realise: http://ipoddev.blogspot.com/2008/09/project-ultimate-music-player-for.html

Is the “Now available on Cydia” logo free for anyone to use?

cover support please and then the app will be perfect for me
this is by far the best solution for users without itunes on their computer to listen to synced music

one thing i would love too see is another folder structure
at the moment its: var/mobile/Library/Downloads
for use with the ipod-convenience package in ubuntu it would be easier if you made the folder structure like this: var/mobile/Media/dTunes/filename.extension

richard, huge thank you for the amazing and surprising app you have created. it is truly ingenious the way you created a much needed “music finder”. dtunes+shazam and i’m set for life.LOL!
one suggestion would be simple playlist creation (wich is also needed in the orignal ipod app).
one place you can look is pocket music por windows mobile. I used it alot in my htc touch cruise.
take a look of it’s interface (touch sensitive) and see what you can make of it.

once again, congratulations!

this is very cool, thank you!
small feature request: can you make it so it will find files in subdirectories inside the Downloads directory?
also, don’t know if you’ve added this in the new version, but it would be cool to be able to browse by ID3 tags (Artist, Album, etc)

You guys are awesome.

This app works great! thanks so much! I was looking for a media player that would play files that i upload via ssh to the phone. Any chance of supporting folders recursively in the Downloads folder? Would be great to be able to just up load album folders to the directory and have them get picked up. Currently seems like it only looks in the Downloads folder and not any deeper.
Thanks again!

Thanks for the feedback.
Utah – If you’re still having this problem download the BigBoss Prefs package from Cydia and turn OFF the Safari Plugin. You will need to turn it back ON to download files again.
Guillaume86 – The source for dTunes is not available at this time. I took a look at your site and don’t really see anything that can’t be done. Should keep you busy as there’s a lot of work there though
I’ve book marked the site as I might try and integrate 1 or 2 points later if time allows.
Jeremy1701 – Sure, feel free to use the Cydia logo. It was just something I put together. If you have a website feel free to add a link to mine.
It seems like a lot of people would like folder support. I’ll try and look into this at some point.
Thanks

This app is brilliant thanks so much.
One thought – it would be fantastic if it continued playing when you went to another app or iphone page – in the way ipod does. Is that something that could be added later?

i am surprised such a good piece of work is free. i hope it stays that way and goes open source so others can help make it the best player on the iphone.
would be great to see it support all the common audio/video formats!!

Very nice app, thanks!
Is it possible to add a photo-feature to view uploaded photos?

Donald
Which formats do you require?
It currently plays MP3 audio and MOV, MP4, M4V, MPV and 3GP video.

it was really cool before but new version is awesome! i really love you guys!
and about possible features…built-in safari download plugin such as BossPreffs has.. i knwo not many people use it but i think it’s useful because some webs aren’t shown properly when the plugin is active

and “one more thing”…
having the app running on the background would be really good
