You can edit the titles easily in dTunes. The way to do it is when you’re in “Browse” mode, click edit. Once in editing mode, double tap the file you want to modify. This will take you to another screen where you can edit the title and file type of stuff you download. Any further questions, please feel free to drop me a line on myspace…

Yes, I know your app is not similar to errick’s. The point is, his can download music (but not play it as well as the iPod, and cant import it into the iPod due to the sw vers 2.0x changes). Your app is a music player, and has a fairly limited mechanism for downloading music.

My point was, each of your apps could benefit from features in the other. Or you could get together and compare notes, and perhaps put one app together with all the features.

I think an app that could play music like Apple’s iPod app, (and in the background), but that had a more open (eg, *NOT* iTunes) path for actually getting that music onto the phone (either from a PC, or from the web or other sharing site, _without_ using a PC [eg soulseek, seeqpod, fleem, others, or maybe all of them]) would be a ‘killer’ app for jailbroken iPhones.

Thanks for the feedback.

I do have some code for keeping the music playing after exiting and this worked during testing but it will not be in the next version as it needs some more testing first.

Currently I cannot access the ID tags which is why you only see the file name.

I have seen the work by Errrick. Please do not think of dTunes as a similar app to his. His program is way more advanced. dTunes only provides playback for media files stored on the device – it has nothing to do with getting the media there in the first place.

Glad everyone is enjoying it.

I’m hoping to release an update later tonight which includes video – stay tuned.

Killer app.

My request would to be able to be able to use subfolders in the /var/downloads directory – yippee then won’t need windows for getting music onto iphone!!

Just one quick additional note – on the background music playing – somehow TuneWiki (wunewiki.com) is able to play in the background, but unfortunately it only plays the same music that is in the iPodDB (but it *isnt* just running the iPod app, its a seperate app).

It would be handy if either the ability to play downloaded songs could be added to TuneWiki, or if dTunes could run in the background.
